 About Our Director

Director, Adrian Longoria, Jr.

At the young age of 8, Adrian joined his brothers and father in their family mariachi band. A sharp musical ear and an inherited love for mariachi music made him an ideal apprentice and fast learner.  Under the care and mentoring of his two older brothers and the formal instruction of his school music teachers, Adrian’s interest in music grew.  While his first instrument was violin, Adrian spent hours learning and perfecting his vihuela-playing, while simultaneously learning to play the guitarron (bass). He attended Houston’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA) and later attended Berklee College of Music.

While at HSPVA, Adrian’s family built him a make-shift music studio, where he would spend hours developing musical arrangements, and composing music for original lyrics written by aspiring singers and song writers.

Today, in addition to being the owner of Mariachi Tradicion de jalisco and Yaneros Music, Adrian continues to write, arrange, and record music.
